“Breath restores me to my exact self”
Breath Work
Breath work is a grounded, internal practice that works with the body’s innate intelligence — not a technique designed to manufacture dramatic experiences.
At its core, breath work activates a self-regulating force within the human system: one that knows how to organize, release, and restore balance across the physical body, nervous system, emotions, and subtle energetic layers. This intelligence is already present in every human being. Breath work simply allows this process to unfold organically.
“Rebirthing breath work is the art of learning to breathe from the breath itself.”
~ Leonard Orr

Rather than chasing peak states or cathartic releases, this approach supports real, sustainable transformation. Some people do have powerful experiences, but those moments are not the end goal — and they are not required for meaningful change. The emphasis is on subtle shifts settling into the body, regulation, and long-term wellbeing.
What This Practice Supports
Breath work functions like an internal workout for the whole system. As awareness of the breath increases, the body can begin to release patterns that no longer support healthy functioning — physically, mentally, and emotionally
Over time, this work can support:
-
Greater awareness and presence in the body
-
Insight into habitual breathing patterns that may contribute to stress, tension, or fatigue
-
A gradual restoration of more optimal, efficient breathing for each individual
-
Release of stored tension associated with past emotional responses
-
Increased emotional resilience and the ability to meet stress with presence rather than reactivity or avoidance
-
Greater trust in the body’s ability to respond intelligently
From this more regulated internal state, people often experience improved clarity, steadiness, and access to new expanded possibilities in how they relate to themselves and their lives.
A Gentle, Powerful Tradition
Rebirthing Breath work — also known as conscious energy breathing — was founded and developed by Leonard Orr in the 1970s. It is a supremely simple and elegant practice that works through conscious engagement and attunement rather than force.
This approach is gentle yet powerful, accessible to anyone, and adaptable to where a person truly is — physically, emotionally, and energetically. It honors the body’s natural timing, respects the ways it has learned to protect itself, and supports change from the inside out.
Sessions are usually offered live, either one-on-one or in monthly group gatherings, allowing for attunement, support, and real-time responsiveness.
